Topic: Narnia: The Magicians Nephew Productions Log

Hello everyone!  I am starting up on a new project.  I am a Narnia fan, and there are no good stopmotion movies of the books.  I am going to try to make a brickfilm of the first book in the series.  Considering how big the sets are going to have to be, I am going to start a Kickstarter project soon.  Also, I am going for 24 fps!  I have already done several tests, and I have a good idea how to make it smooth but it will be very time consuming. I am not making the entire book but around 3 chapters.  It is planned to be around 10 minutes long.  I am not 100% sure of how much money I am going to need, but it is going to be around 500$.  Here is a poster for the project:

Wow, very interesting! I'm a huge fan of C.S. Lewis, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes. However, I suggest you opt for a lower framerate (15 or 12fps). 24 is very hard to do well, plus it just takes a frustrating amount of time to successfully animate.

In addition, I suggest you be very thorough in planning your project before you attempt a kickstarter.

Good luck! mini/smile

100% agree with Shawarma. I would really like to see this project happen, I loved the Narnia Chronicles books when I was younger. I would go with 12fps. You can always switch between 12 and 24 for the fast bits. What capture software are you using?

Looks cool, why not trim the sides a bit before adding the logo to get a more traditional poster shape?

Okay.  Thanks!  I am not going with 24 fps.

Wise move mini/smile save yourself half the work and you can still get amazing quality with 12fps.

(personally I like 15fps but whatevs)
This project looks awesome! I'm a huge fan of the books, and this looks really ambitious! Best of luck with the kickstarter.
