Topic: Mary's Boy Child Music Brickfilm

Hello everyone, know it's been awhile, and last time I was going to post but didn't, this time I will, so don't worry!

           I love Christmas time. All the lights, everyone's Jolly, and it is a great time to make a brickfilm. Every Christmas I make a Christmas music video. Last year I made a live action one to Feliz Navidad, this year, I am going to make a brickfilm to Mary's Boy Child, the Tobi Mac version. I am starting now so I have lots of time, I hope to post it early December or late November. I have all of the minifigs ready, and the stable. I like this song a lot, and when I thought of that idea, I was super inspired, more than I normally am, so I am super excited to start. Please tell me ideas you have for the video, please listen to the song and tell me what you think. I think that it is important to honor God through all that we do, so I am doing that through this video and showing others what I believe. I really enjoy Christmas music, so it seems a perfect time to make a music video brickfilm, after being away from it for awhile. I am super pumped to be working on a new brickfilm, and can't wait to see how it turns out. I posted pictures below of the characters, and I posted a short video on YouTube as well, so go check that out. Please tell me your ideas for the video, or if you have any tips for me to use while making this! Merry Christmas!!!!!...….two months early!!!!

Alright, so I have finished the first scene this week, it is about fourteen seconds, just for the intro. I am super pumped about it, and I really hope that I stay motivated! Any ideas on how to stay very motivated, as well as excited to work on your film? Any way, I will try to post some more behind the scenes later. Please tell me what you think.

For starters, I think sharing here is a good idea, along with sharing that you're working on it with family and friends. It makes it feel more real that you are in production and have a deadline, and also you feel like you have to deliver since you've been talking so much about it. Also have a deadline. Since this is a Christmas themed video, try to release at least a few weeks before Christmas so it has time to get around to everyone who might see it. Setting a solid release date gives you a hard deadline that can motivate you. Be realistic in how much time you need for the deadline, but also don't give yourself so much time that you feel comfortable slacking off.

Alright everyone, the official release date of Mary's Boy Child: A Christmas Music Video is:
December 4th, before noon Mountain time zone. If you guys have any tips, or ideas for me please tell me. Any one who gives me some tips or ideas will be added in the videos description.

Today I am going to film the first part of the first chorus where it says "Hark now here the angels sing" I attached a photo of the angels I will use for that scene. I also posted a picture of Mary I will use for the film. I had put a lot of thought into making her for this reason. In my opinion, a lot of pictures and nativity scenes seem to make Mary to old. After doing some research, the average time people would get married was between 15-18. So I think that Mary was on the younger end, maybe 15 in my opinion. The Bible is unclear to what age she is, but makes it sound like she is pretty young. So I wanted to maker her look young, but also mature at the same time. I think I was able make a Minifigure in the way I just  described. What do you guys think?

I like the angels. Mary seems a little too tough or sophisticated. I'd imagine her to have a gentle and loving heart, and I'm getting more of a snarky, wise-cracking sidekick vibe here.

Ahh, ok understood, definitely not the way I want people to view her as. I will see what I can do. How would you suggest changing her appearance? Now that you say that, the face really seems that way, I will change it to a not so snarky look. I do agree with what you're saying! Thanks for the help!

Here are some BTS shots from the two scenes I shot yesterday. They took quite a bit of time even though they are both like three seconds long. A quick update on Mary, I have changed her face, to a, as Thistoff suggested, a loving and gentle heart, and I think the new look captures that better.
