Yes, I am very well aware of the Free Software List, but I'm looking for a Composing Software, specifically one that can compose 8-bit music. Like what you would here while playing Dig Dug.
8-Bit music seems pretty easy. Get a blip sound effect, adjust its pitch a couple of times and string them together in Audacity.
