Looks sweet, Builderbrothers.

I'm curious.

KinzCove was almost correct.  What they really do is prevent our reflections from showing up on the king's crown (which has a tendency to reflect very well).

Re: The Squire and the Scroll

Ah, that makes sense, good idea. mini/smile
Though, it it one extra thing to bump.

I find it funny how you're using the tripod to help keep them up and you have your tripod over the camera. xD
That's kind of funny.

Re: The Squire and the Scroll

Very impressive set-up. I'm looking forward to this a good deal.

I'll be back animating soon! Exams and computer faults are keeping me away </3

Re: The Squire and the Scroll

I was wondering if you get light flicker with that lens, the stop motion pro website recommends using a manual Nikon lens?

Re: The Squire and the Scroll

Re: The Squire and the Scroll

GAHH! My Medieval film is going to look terrible by comparison! I'm going to have to step up my game...
By the way: I'mma loving these fames, epeially the hazy effect on the village shot. Oh and in the set with the King, some of the minifigures have fallen over. mini/XD

Re: The Squire and the Scroll

*Weekly Update*

Since our last update, we haven't actually animated much more of the film.  School started, and we have been very busy.  However, we did receive our ToY prizes (which include many great weapons, some of which will be used in the film), as well as some special Brickforge orders of specialized swords, reigns, and medieval accessories.

Special thanks to Aero_Studios for pointing out that article from SMP.  We had been having some trouble with light-flickers (resulting in numerous takes), so we purchased a manual Nikon lense as well as an adaptor.  Thanks to this new lens, we now have virtually no flicker.  It also has a very wide focus range, and the apperature range is also very good.  Here is a quick test we did:

We have also been working on the trolls for the film, and here are some pictures:

My brain... whoa...

I hope they look just as epic in shot, if not more. mini/smile

I'm really excited about this.

Re: The Squire and the Scroll

Very nice quality. I hope the animation and voice acting are up to speed with the sets and cinematography. None the less, can't wait for your film.

Re: The Squire and the Scroll

*Weekly Update*

Since our last update, several things have happened.  For one, we received another Brickforge order, this time with some reigns, swords, and a bow.  We took a quick picture using some of the elements below:

http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/BuilderBrothers/tSatS/brickforgepic.png

We also got together again with our composer and began recording some of the first lines of the film.  It is also BuilderBrother#2's birthday today, and through his birthday we got a dragon (see here).  This will be heavily modified and become the core model for the dragon in this film.  We also are about to begin working on another one of our village houses.  We already have 6; 2 from "Medieval Market Village" and 4 we designed ourselves based off the designs of the other 2.  Here is a picture of one of ours compared to the one designed by LEGO:

(Please disregard our little sister's whistle, lol)

We also are redoing a few of our previous shots, due to the fact that we greatly prefer the BrickArms swords over the LEGO ones.  We also bought another camera lens that has a really nice wide angle, so now we have one for close ups and one for zoomed-out shots.

Re: The Squire and the Scroll

The whistle looks like a cannon.

The buildings look very impressive. My only problem is the image. Somehow the color feels...off, as if under a white fluorescent light that was dimmed at the same time.

Sorry about that.  We took the image in a poorly lit garage that was (just like you guessed) lit by several white fluorescent lights.  Please remember that these are not actual shots of the film, but simply quick pictures that we snap while we're working.  However, from now on we'll try to make the lighting look less awkward.

Re: The Squire and the Scroll

Yay! More cool looking pictures. xD

Who is your composer? Just wondering.

Our composer is our father's co-worker's daughter's fiancé (not joking!).  He wants to write music for films professionally later on, so he offered to write the music for this film.
