In order to connect to my audience better I do not create the "Fan pages" I just encourage everyone to add me as a friend, I would suggest you guys do the same 
we aren't really Steven Spielberg or Quentin Tarantino and I don't think it's appropriate to create these fan pages, unless you get like 50K views per day in youtube.
in order to protect my secret identity as a nerdy teenager i wouldn't do such a thing, besides i never even write any thing on my fan page, i might if i get over 50 though...

It still needs a lot of work done to it, and I need to actually publicise that I have the page.
I personally do not have a fan page yet for my YouTube but if I were to get enough subscribers and views I may consider it. I just see no point at this time as my blog, twitter, and YouTube itself do the job. Larry brought up simply having people add you as a friend instead of a page. While some may first consider this to be a bad idea (for those who may want to have their privacy intact), it is actually quite easy to do this and still withhold most of your privacy. Facebook allows you to individually customize who can see pretty much any particular part of your profile. All you have to do is create lists (Family, Close Friends, School, etc). This allows you to, say, share your location and birthday with only your close friends and family, while it does not appear to everyone else. As you make new status' and posts you can also manually change who can see them. Hope that makes sense. I personally prefer the fan pages over adding people because I like to keep my Facebook somewhat personal and for my friends and family.
