Topic: What about a ''Sticky'' Cinematography Challenge?

The Cinematography Challenge should be ''Sticky'', IMO.

This challenge is a great way to learn and this is important to me.

What do you think?

Re: What about a ''Sticky'' Cinematography Challenge?

I feel like there are already too many sticky threads in that subforum.
The used to be less, but some sticky threads were moved when the community section was made exclusive.

Re: What about a ''Sticky'' Cinematography Challenge?

I'd like for the Cinematography Challenge to stay visible. It's a bit of a shame General Film serves as a psudo-Community forum now, in that we have things like Introduce Yourselves and the BiM Guide stuck in there for lack of a better place to put them. That said, I don't think one more sticky thread will hurt, particularly one as relevant to the purpose of the site as the Cinematography Challenge. Request granted.

Thanks Squash! I totally agree with you.

Should we update the first post and add the Challenge Winners like the Animation Challenge?

Re: What about a ''Sticky'' Cinematography Challenge?

It'd be a fair amount of work- I don't really have the time to do it, but if someone else would like to, just send me the text and I'll update the first post.

Re: What about a ''Sticky'' Cinematography Challenge?

It has always been my feeling (not necessarily accurate since I have no data on it) that there's no faster way to kill a thread than to sticky it. It becomes less noticeable to me, because it is always at the top and isn't moved up to designate that there have been new posts.

Re: What about a ''Sticky'' Cinematography Challenge?

I can certainly see where you're coming from, Smeagol, but stickied threads do change color and move to the top of the sticky pile when there are new posts. I think it's better to risk it blending in by always being at the top of the pile than to let a good thread drop to out of sight for half a year when there's potential that new members would revive it if they knew it existed.

Re: What about a ''Sticky'' Cinematography Challenge?

If it works, I'm all for it. I don't know a lot about these dynamics.
