YES.

His brickfilms are just timeless. They are really creative and basically represent everything LEGO stands for. Also, his sets  and themes are just like something out of a weird MOC.

no more brickfilming *sad face*.

Re: Help bring BIM to the world at Brickcon 2014

Emma Execute has two fine films you might consider showing:

Bakey A Cakey
Piano

Jared

Re: Help bring BIM to the world at Brickcon 2014

I suggest these:

Misplaced and Mistaken
Mystery in the Night

Re: Help bring BIM to the world at Brickcon 2014

What about a clip from Monitogo's Studios movie Bound? They have really nice work but of course with their permission. Or do we want a full story?

Re: Help bring BIM to the world at Brickcon 2014

My weekend looks like it is going to be crazy busy but I am going to try to contact Brickcon by and see if we can get a public screening of films and/or a display by Monday. I haven't had time to individually reply to all the posts but I have been reading them and there are a lot of great ideas and suggestions.

Re: Help bring BIM to the world at Brickcon 2014

I would suggest:

"Raiders of the Hawaiian Box" (Not to toot my own horn, but, I really think that some more THAC brickfilms should be included, as, it's one thing to see a great brickfilm, but, another to see one that was made all within 24 hours. Not to say that my THAC film is good... at all... because it's not)

Doug Vandegrift's "Pirates" and "America: Outlawed." (I don't know how much space you'll have on the discs, or how many discs would come in one collection, but, I think that if I was making a list of "greatest brickfilms to represent the community" those would definitely be on there!

I'd also want to suggest "Alex and Derrek: 5 Years Later." But, to understand that film, you'd have to have some of Nathan's earlier Alex and Derrek brickfilms too.

Mindgame's "Hypothetical Possibilities," Robinson Wood's "Grace," and, of course the classics, "Robota" and "The Gauntlet" would also be some of my considerations. (Though most were made in the times of Brickfilms.com, not BiM...)

Re: Help bring BIM to the world at Brickcon 2014

Not to blow my own trumpet, but would it be worth putting my Reactions to The LEGO Movie and END Film'sLEGO Movie Trailer on there? It might be worth it, what with the popularity of The LEGO Movie itself. Again, not to (as Dyland beautifully put it) toot my own horn. Dyland, I'm stealing that one. That horn is going on the shelf with the trumpet.

Re: Help bring BIM to the world at Brickcon 2014

Not to blow my own trumpet, but I'd love to put Creative Love on show, as well as ANZAC on show as well to show the creative ways brickfilmers are out there in the community. Creative Love was for a university assignment, and I entered ANZAC into an international short film contest (of which I think it's the only animation from 1,000 films submitted, and is currently 36th out of 1,000 films in public choice award).

What trumpet are you on about Jampot?

Oh no, I hope I haven't started a horn tooting cycle! mini/tongue

But, seriously, If you think a film is good enough for consideration, I'm sure that SlothPaladin would look into it under a fair light.

Guys, let's not be prideful and select our own films. That's a little much. If it is worth putting in, then someone else will mention it.

Dude. Chill.

I only suggested mine and End's because of the connection to the LEGO Movie, but I think I agree with Dyalnd, in that if you think your film is noteworthy, for any reason, there's no harm in suggesting them to Sloth Paladin.

Not to toot my own horn, but how about somehow incorporating the BFCU into the booth, if even just a little bit? I think it would put across a good image of BiM, plus add more intrigue for those wanting to know more about the community/hobby.

See? No horn-tooting here.

Here's the playlist, although I think the most noteworthy film to go on there is Jonn's Perpetual Twilight. Aside from that and BrickStory's Captured, the rest are mine, so this now feels really super-awkward. Of course, if anyone enters the Superhero Challenge, the entries will all be added to this playlist as well.

Re: Help bring BIM to the world at Brickcon 2014

Oh man. What a fantastic surprise to return to. I can get fully behind this project. (And given that I'm going to be 18 soon - somehow - I may even be able to travel from the wee United Kingdom to BrickCon. Maybe. If not, I'd definitely be able to help fund it.) I've been thinking for a few months now of saving a bunch of well-known or top-quality brickfilms to a pen drive, if only to preserve them, lest they be removed from YouTube or wherever, so a DVD containing just that is an absolutely splendid idea.

If I may aid with the film recommendations - Nathan Wells has created a Google document with (what many BiM members believe to be) some of the best Brickfilms ever made contained on it. I've had a minor input for a few films too, and I'm fairly certainly there are others who have contributed to the list, so I'd highly recommend it.

I don't make Brickfilms. I trade virtual hats.

Here are some of my favorite brickfilms:
Virus
The Legend of Leszek
Red and Green
The Inventor
The Librarian
30 Years: The Story of the Minifigure

Re: Help bring BIM to the world at Brickcon 2014

What about one or more of us creating something (albeit something short) specifically for Brickcon? Somethine quintessentially BricksInMotion, perhaps, not that I'm sure what that would be.

Also, AX 2 should go on. I really love that brickfilm.

You could have made that post a little less offensive. I am just giving advice. mini/tongue

I'm sorry if you're offended, but I can't possibly see how saying "Dude. Chill." is at all offensive. I think I was unconsciously quoting Ouskavar's unicorn Gloaming, if anything.

I'm not offended but, "Dude. Chill. " kinda makes me angry. It is a little insulting. I'm not sure you would like it if someone said "chillout" when you aren't even doing anything. mini/tongue
