Topic: Directory says "Temporarily Unavailable"

For the past few days, I've been trying to go to the Films Directory, but it always says "Temporarily Unavailable". It's not a constant error message, though. I have gotten into the films directory, but only for a short time. For example, on Sunday (I think that's when it was), I was viewing the directory, and I closed the page and came back a few minutes later, and it said that the directory was "Temporarily Unavailable". The directory was available this morning, but not now. Are you guys updating it, or is it an error?

Hmm, I don't seem to be having this problem. (And haven't recently) It's working just fine for me. How are you two attempting to get to the directory? - Could that have something to do with it?

When I click on the "films" tab, It takes me right there.

It's working right this moment. It happens when I click the "Films" tab and when I click a video from someone's profile.

Here's what the front page looks like for me, and has looked like for probably three days or so.

If I click on the 'films' tab I get this screen.

It would appear they're aware of the issue and it will be fixed shortly.  Nothing to worry about.

I am in the process of fixing certain things. I apologies for having it closed for so long, but I want to refrain from having any unanticipated errors occur from visitors.

How are there two new films in the directory if the directory is down?

The directory's open again, hopefully having the thumbnail upload problems some people run into fully fixed will come soon. Feel free to post new films you already posted as just a thread in this forum (without a releases thread) if you'd like them to have a directory entry (mostly useful for your filmography on your profile page, but we'll hopefully be integrating this all together better in the future.)

Can we submit a film without creating a link to the releases forum?  That lets us control the meta data like release dates, actors and thumb nails.

I believe there's the ability to do that. Unless it has been removed at some point unbeknownst to me.

I just tried this.  Seems to work, as in, it was submitted to the directory.  The thumb nail is completely blank but it shouldn't be.  Not sure if that was just me and the bmp file I chose or if that's a code/database issue.

Maybe you should try a .png or a .jpg file instead. It worked for me this afternoon.

Yep.  That worked.  I was afraid to edit once submitted in case it went wacky.  Took the chance.  The jpg file worked fine.  Must be an issue with bmp files.
