Topic: Boost Juice ad

Hi, this is my entry for Boost Juice's "Make us Smile" competition. Basically the idea is to take the music they provide and film something that makes you smile... mini/smile
Anyway, it took about two weeks to make. Enjoy.

That cup was cool! The film was great

Re: Boost Juice ad

Wow! It made me zmile!
The animation was great and I liked the color scheme; nice and bright.
Very nice cup. mini/bigsmile  How long did it take to build?

Re: Boost Juice ad

That was really cool.

Re: Boost Juice ad

Nice, really well built. Must have been a large bricklink order.

Re: Boost Juice ad

Umm... Holy cow. That rocked!

Shots like the one where all of the people are working on the building make me ant to animate.  In fact, the whole thing makes me want to animate.  I hope it wins! If there's a vote, you have mine.

Re: Boost Juice ad

That was really cool! Nice bright colours and a nice set, it made me smile. mini/bigsmile
I hope you'll win.

Btw, your quicktime version doesn't seem to be working. I got a 404.

Re: Boost Juice ad

That was great. mini/eek Smooth animation, great set design. You deserve to win. mini/bigsmile

Re: Boost Juice ad

Thanks for your comments guys! I'll answer questions...
@ Moo-C-J: The cup took too long to build, maybe 5 hours all up. The fact I had only just enough pieces, and had to build it cleverly with what I had, was tricky and it could've taken half the time if I'd had an ample supply of bricks.
@ Keshen: Yes it was...two orders in fact. I spent at least AUD$150 on LEGO I think...
@LegoShark: I'm pleased to hear that you find my humble film inspiring! mini/bigsmile Luckily it's not voted on, it's Looked At.
@Bastetta: Hmm I'm not sure what's up with it for you, it works fine for me at home and school though.

My room for animating, in the back garden...gets boiling hot in summer, freezing cold in winter! I finished animating this film at about 4:30am on Thursday, it was about 3 degrees...

Anyway

This is the rig I used for that shot where they're putting fruit into the cup. Didn't want a vertical wall cause the fruit would drop off annoyingly, and I don't have a backdrop on my ceiling.

The boost cup I based my cup on. For those of you who don't know, Boost is an Australian smoothie-selling chain that sells fresh juice and smoothies and soup and stuff....it's very yummy as well!

Random pic of minifig. I drew lots of pics to visualise what this movie was going to look like, to plan it all out (v. important) and then loaded my pics into the computer to make a video-storyboard with the music. This made it so I knew exactly how long each shot had to be, and didn't waste time shooting what was only going to be cut later. Editing it simply meant dragging and dropping the clips into premiere, hardly any trimming required.

Re: Boost Juice ad

That was fantastic. I think you did a great job portraying the "Make us Smile" aspect of this. Excellent work, and of course, great sets.

Re: Boost Juice ad

I think this could be a solid nominee for Best Set Design in the BAFAs this year! Superb job.

Amazing! I really enjoyed this. I've watched it about 10 times now.
