You've seen Episode 1 of dt98films' Guardians of the Galaxy, but where was Groot? This crazy galaxy is about to get a whole lot bigger!

I animated this back in January or February, I can't quite remember, intended as a tie-in to the core series of GotG. Not only was this fun for me to make, but it also starts to lay the foundations for a future MBU story arc (post-credits scene, hint hint).

And yes, my attempt at baby Groot utterly failed, but I'm glad I tried mini/bigsmile I intend to have another crack at it, and hopefully that attempt will be more successful.

Assuming I do the tie-in for Episode 2 that I have planned, this post-credits scene will be quite important. While the Collector having the Aether is the same as in the movies, that's where the similarities end - we've got a whole different version of events that I'm really looking forward to exploring.

I dunno, I liked the baby Groot. There was some nice compositing in here.

Thanks! Maybe I'm just too harsh on myself, but I can't unsee all the missing areas on Groot's arms and the base, and the weird mono noise that seems to cover the edges.
