Topic: How to make a plane fly

I am making a ww1 dog fight short brickfilm. I do have a problem though, how to make it look like the planes are flying. I could green screen it but I am not the best at masking, I could put a backdrop but I am just no sure. Please help me out on this thanks.

I already have a script and story board made, and the planes planned out. I just need help on that thing before I go into production of the brickfilm.

Re: How to make a plane fly

If you have a good backdrop that will work.

I do not brickfilm anymore, but you can see my live action stuff here.

I don't know what kind of equipment you have to work with, but I'd recommend checking out some of Brotherhood Workshop's behind the scenes videos. It may give you some ideas.

Masking is your best bet I would think. Even if you're not the best, it's good to practice.

Re: How to make a plane fly

Well, if you were shooting the scene from one side of the plane, you could place it on the floor and shoot it from above. Masking can be hard to do well, so when I made objects fly in my latest film, I mostly shot it with a tripod looking down.
