Topic: How to fix sizing problem with video for Youtube

Hey guys,
I'm a bit of a lurker but I thought I'd step out of the shadows finally. mini/lol
Anyway for some reason whenever I upload a video to Youtube it makes the video smaller and is surronded by all black.
Example: https://youtu.be/-aqGrplGjoE

I use Monkey Jam , Adobe Premire , and a Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam.

Only thing I've change is the editor.
This is the last video I did with Windows Movie Maker as an editor:

See what I mean?

Is there any way to fix that issue?
I would deeply appreciate any help. mini/smile

Re: How to fix sizing problem with video for Youtube

You're rendering the video as 640x480 which has an aspect ratio of 4:3. The YouTube player has an aspect ratio of 16:9, which iss why the bars are showing up on the sides. But since you want your video widescreen, your editor is adding black bars to the top and bottom of your 640x480 video to make it appear to be widescreen (but since the bars are rendered into the video, it's still a 4:3 video file).

So what you need to do is render your video in a 16:9 aspect ratio. If you're using MonkeyJam and Logitech c920, I assume you're probably shooting in 800x900 or maybe higher. Which means you need to be rendering in a higher ratio as well. Since you have premiere, you can render way higher, so I recommend you do that.
