Topic: Desideratum's Downfall - Progress discussion.

I'm working on a film about a stone statue who goes around beating up coin-heads. But, I have hit a road-block. There is this shot I need to get with the camera really close to the characters. The space I'm filming is really tight, and it's a bit hard to precisely move the characters. So the result is the badly animated mess shown below.

Any tips to exercise better control over Legos in small spaces? I'm also trying to get the camera to move here, so better ways to do that would also be appreciated.

Looks cool so far. I like the idea of the coin-heads. Bumping the camera is always a threat. Can you build some kind of a roll cage around it so your hand bumps the cage and protects the camera? That's what I did for my most recent brickfilm. What camera do you have? If it's the C920 I can send you a LDD file of the actual cage I built for it.

Yes, I use a C920. The ldd would be much appreciated. Thanks

The file is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8dh3xkhmsl55r … g.lxf?dl=0
In the file you'll see the fully built rig and next to it just the foundation. You don't neet to build both, the foundation shows the correct placement of the purple tiles, which are impossible to place in LDD but work in real life. They should rest tightly beneath the 4081 piece. The second half of this video shows how the camera wedges into place:

I hope this is clear and helpful to avoid camera bumps.

Thanks for the link. I'll use it and let you know how animation goes.
