You guys might remember way back when, when I won Sony Vegas 7.0 Platinum for the Book to Bricks contest. Well, I ended up having to move it to another computer, and the serial number was lost. I really need that serial number or I will have to resort to using... WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER. Please help! I'm begging you!

If you have lost your serial number, you will need to contact customer support services at Sony. They will instruct you on how to obtain a new one if possible. You will probably need to have proof of purchase, such as a scan of the UPC code on the box or a copy of your original receipt from the purchase.

Some software does keep the key in a text file in the data folder. Try asking on Yahoo answers, someone should be able to give you more specific information.
Windows Movie Maker is bad, it is ok, for simple editing, but its lack of multi layer video and audio tracks, rendering to desired codecs of your choice.....you know i could go on for hours. Its main problem is that it is free, so therefore MS don't worry too much about perfecting it. Therefore it is a bit buggy and does lock up frequently when you have a lot of codecs installed on your system and when you are using short clips with lots of transitions/cuts. It is a known problem which they don't seem to worried about fixing.

Sony Vegas is a semi professional video editing package
Which version of Sony Vegas 7 do you have is it the first release 7a or a later patched on ie 7d ?
