Never Go Against the Family

YouTube

My longest brickfilm to date, this film tells the story of a mafia don who is forced to make a decision between killing his brother or going to jail for the rest of his life.

This was made for my media class at school, and I didn't start filming until a couple weeks before it was due, so the film may seem rushed, but I think it is still enjoyable.

Sorry to bump this thread, but this thread has sunk to the second page of the Releases forum without getting any comments, and I would really appreciate some feedback on this film.

Well some of the walk cycles could've used some work as did some of the sets
But overall I found it quite enjoyable and loved the whole concept
Better than I imagined it was going to be
Nice

Re: Never Go Against the Family

Yeah, I had actually built a much more detailed office set for this a while back (when I wasn't doing this film for school), but I had decided to film the scenes in the apartment first. I would've liked to fix some of the walk cycles as well, but I didn't have the time to.

Re: Never Go Against the Family

I thought it was a pretty good film. It wasn't good, it wasn't bad. It was just sort of in between.
I liked the story of the film. The conclusion of it at the end was pretty good.

Spoiler (click to read)

I liked it when the main character realized what was right, and then his brother called telling him he moved to Vince. That segment had some good irony in it.

The sets were average. One of my pet peeves was what piece you used for the phone. Seriously, I torch-ish looking thing?
The animation was a little choppy in places, and the walk cycle could use some improvement.
Some of the shots you took were pretty decent, like when you took that one where the hero was talking to the boss over the table.

Overall, I think this was a pretty decent film, not bad for five minutes.
2.5/5

Re: Never Go Against the Family

The torch thing was the closest thing I could find to a phone, so I just used it because I needed to start filming. Like I said, this film would have been better if I had made it on my own time instead of doing it for school.
