Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film
Though I love the tilt, I feel the the camera should be elevated slightly.

The lighting on the background looks nice, but the front of the minifig is dark, which sort of ruins the outside feel, I'm guessing you only have 2 lamps, which is the leading cause of an unlit foreground, at least in my past films. If you have any way to fix that I think it would improve the shot immensely.
Thanks for the feedback!
@ANP Yes, this shot does give the illusion. This however is not the case, because the figure is approaching the camera
@Backyardlegos Yeah, if you look to any of my films you'll see this. I indeed do have two lamps. The problems is that if I focus the light on the front too much the lamp gets in my way. I hope this issue will go away once I'll get the Canon 7D (Hopefully before the end of the year) because I can adjust more settings.
I have just set a new film in MOTION. I think it will be a very MOVING film.
This is just the raw photo straight from the camera. I am going to add some color correction in post.

Wooaah, slow down. I hope you don't think that buying a very nice camera is going to fix uneven lighting. Sure you can brighten the image to make the minifig look good, but then the background will be very overexposed. Buying an $1800 dollar camera won't even out lighting on the set itself, and I really really hope you're buying that camera for some reason completely outside of brickfilming.
@Backyardlegos Oh yes of course ! My dad and I both really like photography, and our current camera is about 8 years old and it's showing. The brickfilming use of it is just a nice side thing really. Also 1800 bucks? It's half that price here! Anyway I'll experiment a bit more with the lighting and possibly purchase a new lamp.
Here's a frame from an animation that hasn't turned out to be too good. I'll either reshoot it or just not do it at all - I don't want to use the footage I already have. That said, I did like this frame.
Yes, I've made Slenderman's tentacles. And yes, they do move.
Part of the reason why I'm not using this though is because I can't seem to pull more of the mid-ground into focus with the foreground - the torch and basket, which is where that burst of light comes from, is far too blurry. I think Slenderman's a little too blurry as well.
oooh You beat me to it..... nice job!
Nice frame Jampot. You should keep going on the film it is.
Ima post TWO frames. Like a bauws.
Both from my short short film about zombies.
Likey? (Sorry they're small)
Pretty good co0lwill!
Pretty good co0lwill!
Why thank you kind sir.
Looks rather gruesome haha. Here is a frame from my upcoming film! I know I just released one, but I started animating again today and I should have another new film out by Saturday or Sunday hopefully! This one is loosely "Halloween" themed.
Wow, can't wait Repelling!
Nice frame spider. Is it for that spooky contest by chance? The lighting is really nice, but personally I would have moved the frame to the right and had the figure further to the left. I'm not particularly fond of centered frames, but I look forward to it!
Some of you might be like "Oh come on! Another Batman brickfilm?" Am I rite? but I feel like I have a right to do this, because after 4 years of brickfilming it's my first Batman related video. It's gonna be called "Alfred" I've recently watched Batman: Revenge (2003 or 2004) for like 15th time in my life and I was really inspired by the caped crusader.
looks cool Larry, the contrast seems a little high. (I don't know, maybe I'm being picky) I Also I don't really see so many batman brickfilms to be a problem, Kuzz I like batman. Why's it named Alfred? Anyway I like the frame and I'm excited for it.
Here's one of mine:
This is before color correction.
Nice frame Larry, but I think it's a bit too contrasty and the blacks are way far gone. The set and framing are great though! @Cloniac: Interesting frame as well! I'm assuming the figure walks through the shot or it's a pan. It seems a bit shallow as far as the DOF goes, but perhaps it suits the film.
@Olson - Thanks! And yes it is for that contest actually! I think I agree with you about the framing, but this is actually a frame from a pan so hopefully it'll look better in the actual shot.
I'm so excited for this new film and how it's coming out. Here is one more preview from what I shot today. A graveyard scene. ZOMBIE PONY!!!!

N00b question, but what's DOF?
