Topic: Horror music technique

so i know i saw a vid of this somewhere.
its explaining of a high pitch and a low pitch sound that slowly/ or quickly builds to create tension.
im wondering how do u create tension.

or other certain moods.

comedy?
thrillers?
or an eerie feeling like somethings gonna happen.
and. a feeling that something is complete. Like the ending of a movie.
thanks mini/sunnies

Re: Horror music technique

I'm not an expert but I do know some. I think for building tension the Jaws theme song is a good example. Playing something similar with minor notes that repeats itself and slowly builds in volume and tempo could create that effect. It also depends what you're playing but an electronic keyboard would work with stringed instruments and maybe an organ. Are you making a horror movie or just experimenting?
