Re: Septemberfest 2010 Contest [CLOSED]
Quick question, as in no dialogue, do you mean no audible talking? Or general exchange of words? (i.e. texting, speech bubbles, etc.)
The purpose of this theme is to tell a story without words.

Can't see the entries until after the deadline Luigi. You gotta enter without anyone's ideas. Originality.
Can we use a title like: London, 1966?
Are there mod elements?
I think you're allowed titles with words, seeing as they want us to add the brickscope logo in our videos and the logo has words. Plus, a video without a title is basically just a test.
can we add music and sound effects?
Yes, this contest is just about NO DIALOG.
That doesn't mean no sounds, no titles, etc. It just means no dialog or talking.

Hmmm... this theme requires some thinking.
Although I am grateful because I dont have a proper microphone.
I will most likely fall asleep thinking of an idea.
Light Bulb, I have an idea
Lamplight and I got a genius idea for this.

How exactly do you do a co-production, when you need the same mini-figs and possibly sets. And don't the camera qualities differ?
What is it, JK! JK I have to say, I love this theme! I really like making films without dialogue. Hopefully I'll find time to enter. I have a question. If we have a song that we want to put in our film and we have the rights to use it, but the song has words in it or it tells a story, is that frowned upon. Or is it fine to use it.

as far as I know, yes. We really want to avoid people using speech bubbles and signs and things like that to get around the 'no dialog' restriction.
I'd add that songs with lyrics/singing count as words.
I'm also wondering about the mod elements, I had thought this contest would have them but I don't see a mention of that anywhere.
Okay. I kind of thought the same thing but just wanted to confirm. This theme is more centered on the animation and story and will require films to have more animation instead of a stationary minifigure waving his arms and speaking, if you know what I mean
Oh also here are some films that don't need dialog to be amazing (though admittedly some of them would not fit the contest criteria precisely)
I have a new signature for Lamplight and my entry. Look down.
It's spelled wrong on purpose, fyi.

I think i know what you and lamplight are going to do JK, after seeing that sig.
But anyway, this is a good theme, i think i could do pretty good in this.

No, it's not going to be Meet Larry.
