Praises aside (all that needs to be said has already been posted), the lighting effects were amateurish...or rather simplistic at best.  Lens flare here, lens flare there, that's it, no additional work to make them blend more naturally.  There's an obvious cut off on the top of the fire and it doesn't illuminate (either artificially or on set) the fire place and that's the only area I felt needed more work.  If only you'd came to me for effects work mini/wink.

The ghost part was the only area I was impressed with mini/bigsmile, effects-wise.

Again, all praises aside.  I enjoyed it despite my SFX/VFX jadedness.

Yes I know, most of my effects were amateurish, But hey it was like my first time trying out most of this stuff.
Even though yes, of course it would of been better if I had come to an experienced member, I am happy I did it myself because at least I am learning something new and have some more stuff to improve on for next time mini/smile
And as you said, I got the ghost part right, maybe next time I can get some more stuff right aswell.

Re: Piano

Just think of it as more time to build up a fanbase. mini/wink

I loved the film. It wasn't perfect, for reasons others have pointed out, but it turned out rather nicely and I am happy to have been a part of it. mini/smile

this may be violation of privacy (sorry) - but how old are you?

Re: Piano

This is surely your best movie! Piano is a great entry to the FOS, and well executed.
The visual effects are sweet, but I don't like the fire in the fireplace mini/sad

Sound: 7
Effects: 8
Cinematography: 9

Good Job! And good luck with the contest!

Well, at least you have a Youtube account at all. I'm 14, and my dad won't even let me have my own e-mail. mini/madhead

What's wrong with being a YouTube partner that your dad wont allow?

An awesome film. Probably my favorite of your films. We'll be reviewing it on the broadcast.

Re: Piano

Good work Emma. The grave digger at the start was great and so are the sets.
Story was a little flat and some continuity issues.
Still a fine effort and enjoyable to watch.

You can’t have manslaughter without the laughter!

He doesn't want his name on the account thingy.

The only people who could see that name are Google.

I don't exactly know why, he wont tell me mini/confused

Pester him. If he won't tell you the reason then you could say he has no reason and the argument is won, right?

I suppose there is nothing much I can do about it...

If everyone had that attitude, then no one would have got very far in anything...

This probably hasn't helped. mini/cat

@Hazzat
I've been pestering him for a while, he won't listen. But I think I found someone else that will let me use their name, I'm not sure yet.

Re: Piano

That had a great sense of atmosphere, I liked the mix of practical and post-prod. lighting effects in it.

The main critique I'd have was about the prominent use of Kevin MacLeod music I've heard before, though its usage here is understandable I suppose...there are a number of older classical piano recordings that are in the public domain that might be worthwhile alternatives.

Re: Piano

Bravo.

Re: Piano

I for one thought that was awesome.

Sure the pace was fast, but it was still creepy, and that's hard to pull of with LEGO.

So, combine the LEGO-friendliness with the shortness of the film, and yet it's still creepy, I think Emma deserves some credit, a lot of it actually.

It was awesome, and actually creeped me out a lot more than Frankenstein.

Re: Piano

Nice lighting and atmosphere, the rest was good. I think the music played by the piano should've been techno like 'Beep-Boop-Bop-Beeep'.
