THOMAS THE TANK! mini/bigsmile

Good times.

I do not care about your opinion, unless it has to do with it needing more ponies.

There was a sequel?! Wow.
I miss snow. I loved playing in it when I was a little kid, but the "snow" here in California sucks.

Re: The Nostalgia Thread!

I have so many shows I miss I can't even name them all...
I used to watch EVERYTHING as a kid, back in the days when Cartoon Network only played old cartoons. Heck, I even watched Power Puff Girls.

Isn't Jimmy Neutron still on?

Actually, they made a new series with Shene being the main character, but it's not that good...

Concorde, I used to watch them fly over my house in Surrey. Best piece of Anglo-French engineering ever.

Sonic used to be good, and now it looks like he is making a comeback.

I don't think Sonic will ever be as popular as he was in the Genesis days again.

Anyway nostalgia, nostalgia.

The sequel pretty much sucked in comparison to the first one. My family happens to own both, and I remember the sick days when my sister forced us to watch both one and two.

It all stopped when I was 8...

This thread gives me nostalgia

Re: The Nostalgia Thread!

Thought about posting this in the Cafe Corner, but it actually wouldn't be out of place here. Besides, I love to see a dead thread be given new life.

I've been watching the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles again recently. I'm just old enough to have grown up with the re-runs before the "Old Indy" bookends were taken out - and I properly saw the series again in 2007/2008 as it re-ran on the History Channel to coincide with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Was fortunate enough to have found the entire collection (on DVD) at a good price a few years ago and have only now gotten around to actually watching the show again again.

While the Corey Carrier episodes are a little too far removed from Indiana Jones at times, they're decent enough. The Sean Patrick Flanery episodes are really where the series shines! IMHO, a handful of his episodes (probably a season-worth) are better than the prologue to Last Crusade.

It's nice that each DVD comes with loads of bonus documentaries as well. Really makes learning about history even more fun! If your an adventure fan, I'd highly recommend you check the series out. The tone shifts a bit from episode to episode, but production quality is top! Loads of explosions, beautiful locations, and great acting (for the most part).

Re: The Nostalgia Thread!

Nothing wrong with a little thread necromancy!

I remember watching the original Teenage Mutant ninja Turtles cartoon (showing my age a bit there!) I used to think the original 90's live-action movie was really good, then I watched the blu-ray HD version. Turns out that with the updated clarity, you can now see the performers faces inside the turtle's mouth's masks... which looks,  um, disturbing to put it mildly!

Smile and say hello to people. It costs you nothing and can brighten their day.
