Topic: Quickcam Pro 9000 BSOD

I've used it for over a year on my old windows XP laptop, and it's always been fine. I've been using it with dragonframe on my new computer and it seems to run ok, unless I don't take any pictures for a while, because the picture will freeze. Now when I try to use it directly through the logitech quick capture software, I get the Blue Screen of Death. I've done a few searches and it seems that it's not an isolated incident, so I was wondering if anyone here had encountered the same problem?

That doesn't happen with me, but if I use the Logitech Webcam Software, my computer will not recognize any USB's that are plugged in after the fact. I don't know what the problem is, but I just steer away from using the program.

Could you post your system specs? Also see if you can find a camera and take a picture of the BSoD, I'll look up the error number for you and tell you what it's all about. I remember getting BSoD's due to my quickcam software. I updated it and it worked just fine. That was back in 2009 though.

I am getting the same thing with my QC9000. It started when I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, but it's probably because it doesn't work well with Windows 7 for me. I would like to know if there is a solution too. mini/smile

The camera also randomly freezes while I'm using it with dragonframe.

I'm using Windows 7 on a desktop and my qc9k works just fine. My specs are a quad core i7 3.2 ghz and 12 gbs of ram. My qc9k is also plugged into a USB 3.0.

Logitech products suck with Windows 7. I'm sorry but that's the truth. My laptop is really good (I can play Arkham City on full graphics) and it's OS is W7, I tried capturing images using Quickcam Pro 9000 and it freezes all the time, so I'm forced to use my old sucky computer to capture frames now... mini/madhead

Grr... Pretty bad problem. I guess it works fine in MACs.

Strange.  I have a laptop, too (it's only 2 years old).  It's got Windows 7, and both my Quickcam Pro 9000 and my Logitech wireless mouse work fine.  I've never had a problem with either.

Not literally dead, just no longer interested in Lego or animation.

No. Logitech usually updates their stuff quickly to new operating systems. No need to throw the fault on them for you not updating your software. And I'd still like to have a look at the STOP_ERROR code.
