Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Rioforce, this looks amazing. At first I thought it was a frame from the lego movie, but that'd be ridiculous. The variety of color is perfect, as well as the lighting on the set. Can't wait to see this!

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Great frame, rioforce. Lighting and colour is on point. mini/sunnies

@rioforce, that frame looks great.  The time machine has a very creative design.  Can't wait to see the final film. mini/smile

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

That is a beautiful shot Rio. I love the highlight over the machine and the framing of it all. Great job!

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

That frame looks fantastic. I love the sneaky skull in the bottom left corner!

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Thats a very well done frame Riofroce! as many people have mentioned you did a great job with all the different colors, Kudos too you!

I am puzzled about one thing. I love visualizing and I can't help but notice, that blue tub on the left hand side < the blue thing with the white pole on it. Is that an actual minifig?!

Divine.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

how did you get that sorta glow around where the actual lights are?

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Thanks for the replies and feedback everyone! I'm glad you all like it. mini/bigsmile

@Divine - Yes, that is a minifigure in that tube. He doesn't stand up straight, but I got him in there anyway. mini/tongue

@Cooked Cat - I don't really understand what you mean. What "actual lights"? Are you referring to the translucent plates on the time machine? The glow is an in-camera lens flare. My lens is pretty old, so it doesn't have a flare-resistant filter on the glass. Often times, my lens produces flares where I don't want them to be, but for this shot, I took advantage of my lens and used the lens flare to give it that cool look. mini/smile

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I like the look of this lab.  It has a really classic look to it.  The lighting gives a mysterious tone.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I mean the lens flare, I like the look of it....

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

I haven't posted one of these in a long time... wasn't even sure where to upload it to. Turns out I still have a Brickshelf account?

I think the glow from the engines needs to be tighter, and the starfield is just temp for now. Also, I need to work out a way to implement a small amount of motion blur on shots like this, without using go-motion. Mainly because my attempts at go-motion are terrible and look ridiculously poor quality.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

that looks outstanding!

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Ladon that's amazing. Can't wait to see this in action. mini/bigsmile

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

@Ladon Wow, that's really nice. mini/bigsmile

@Divine Good frame, but the brightness and contrast seems to be off a bit. I can tell that you've just lowered the exposure on your camera because the long shadows from the minifigs and trees are still there, and if it's night, there are no long shadows. The fire looks kind of out of place there too. Maybe there should be some logs or a barrel for the fire to burn on instead of just the ground. Other than that, it looks good!

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

Hey RioForce,

That's a good point man, I do agree the brightness and contrast are off. This is something I really want to work on in the future. Yes I did lower the exposure. I wasn't aware of how the shadows worked mate, thanks for the tip.
The fire is out of place haha I do agree I do plan to put in something to make up for the fire tho once I get into proper
shooting! One thing I was wondering tho is with these fire files they always lay flat at the bottom, how will this be rectified even if barrels or logs are added when it still stays flat? Any idea? Anything is appreciated.
Thanks Rio!

Sincerely,
Divine.

If you want to get fancy, the plugin ReelSmart is supposed to do this kind of thing well.

Otherwise, there's the option of cheating it a bit with a small amount of "zoom" radial blur just it passes the edge of the frame close to the camera.

Re: Frame from Your Upcoming Film

This is a still from an MBU brickfilm I'll be shooting in parts between other projects. While this scene is fully edited (bar sound) the rest is going to be a long while away. Man, I'm doing a lot of licensed IP projects lately, but they're just so fun to do! La Conquista II and more Vampire Town stuff have to wait until I'm at home anyway, since that's where most of my bricks are. Not that I'm apologising for making a brickfilm based on a franchise I enjoy.
