I watched it directly from dropbox instead of downloading it was a bit pixeled cause of the screen being larger than usual.
But none the less it was watchable.
The first thing I really noticed, was the guy with the glasses moving towards the house. It felt really rushed or a better word ''fast'' as in the movement, now it may be normal for you for several reasons possibly you just wanted to get to the house to the actual animation for the character, or you take less frames for your walk cycle which seems most probable. It wasn't a big deal but its what I first really noticed.
You had nice camera pans and movements, I'd try and work on getting some glue tack just to keep the gamer in place. Thats really if you want the realism feeling otherwise it's no biggie. The main thing that really caught my eye near the end is when the guy with the glasses begins to talk his hand movements are very fast, probably too fast. Best thing to do is just take more frames, or extend you're frame.
Otherwise overall good job man!
Sincerely,
Divine.
Thanks for that. "Get to the house" means approaching the door? Walking through the door?
The gamer is suppose to be moving about a lot. I'd nudge him every second or third frame. Perhaps audio and context would help (this is not an extablishing shot), or, maybe it's just a bad idea! Thanks for that. I like trying something new so It's important for me to see what works with the audience.
get to the house as in approaching the door yes, walking through the door is a change of speed in the cycle. Or at least it seems. I think with sounds it'd better to determine the situation of the gamer and the intensity of his movement.
It's all good man, just remember we want to help you get better
Sincerely,
Divine.
Looks great.
Hey, that's a nice pan! You webcam brickfilmers are so lucky.
I agree with Divine that him coming into the door was a bit quick. He paused before he opened the door, which was good, but when he opened the door, he was in the middle of the door to begin with, then he was on the left of it, then he had to walk over to the right, then he clipped right back to the middle again. Also, his hands didn't move to turn to doorknob, or to push the door open. (And did anyone notice the door closing by itself? Spooky... )
As for the very last few frames after the camera rotate, the framing is a bit off. The top of his head is cut off and the little glass thing in front is filling too much of the screen.
However, the dialogue and the panning was really great, and the main walk cycle was smooth. Keep up the good work!
Looks good, but I think the camera movement feels kind of unnatural, as smooth as it is. Generally you shouldn't pan forwards and then backwards in one long shot like that. Also, an 18 second shot is quite long. Most shots are between 3-5 seconds.
You can't pan forward and backwards, but you can dolly in those directions, just sayin'
Is the dolly to the left too fast/qucik? Did anyone notice the guy in the window? The dolly tracks the man behind the wall as he walks to the door. Not sure i got tha dolly right. Smooth, sure. Thanks for that feedback, but too fast?
