Giving credit doesn't make using copyrighted material legal.
Yes, but there's a very slim chance you'll get full permission from the creators to use that material for your film. If you credit them, at least your acknowledging they're the creators, not yourself.
Hm.... I like it! Now all I need is an idea...:)
can the audio from the film have swearing if we beep it out?
and do we have to make it the same or like.. a remake
thanks
So is it alright to use the audio from the movie? I own the DVD I want to use a clip from.

I cannot endorse re-distributing an audio from the actual dvd. After quite a bit of research, I found that this is a copyright infringement on the company and indeed illegal. You'll most likely have to find a legal substitute, or just re-create the sound yourself.
EDIT: In fact (I will ask anteater to post this on the rules) you may not use audio from the actual film unless you have written consent to do so. We've done quite a bit of research regarding this subject, and even though lots of youtubers have these clips in their films, it still isn't legal and we do not want to promote piracy or anything of the sort. Therefore, you must create your own audio unless you have the written consent.

Hmmm... Okay, thanks. I guess I'll just get voice actors.
Ok the rules have been updated.

If it is an actual scene from the movie, then yes. It cannot be based off of it though.
Could I use something from a audio series? Something like "Adventurer in Odyssey"?

Sorry, but it has to be a scene from a book or movie.

Okay, just thought I'd ask.
