I like the idea of this, but I think it's getting too personal, by naming brickfilmers instead of individual brickfilms. Also brickfilming is a learning process, and people gradually get better. Especially because different animators are good in different ways; smoothness of animation, cinematic effects, good storylines, etc.
And reposting them in order from best to least? That doesn't seem fair at all, especially because when it comes to brickfilming, a lot of it is a matter of opinion in terms of who's the best.

kcirb-- its brick backwards.

What about listing them in the order their names were posted?

What if a brickfilmer doesn't have a YouTube channel?

I don't know, if he doesn't have a YouTube channel, you must not need to know about him.

Nope. Try again. AFAIK JamesFM does not have a YouTube channel, and he created two of the most well known brickfilms among the old brickfilmers. Also, I don't think it's really a stretch to say that Lindsey Fleay doesn't have a YouTube channel, and he created what is widely accepted as not only the first, but one of the best brickfilms of all time.

Also, haven't we had enough of these "Top 100,000,000" threads? Can't you guys actually talk about improving your animation, storytelling or something else that's actually productive?

Re: 100 of the best brickfilmers you need to know about

Yet again we have another pointless thread filling the forum. Brickfilming is a hobby that people do for fun, or practice for further employment. Comparing other peoples strengths and weaknesses on a forum that's about community support and improvement is just wrong. I thought Brickfilming was about being creative and looking for reliable and structural criticism that people in future can improve on. This thread does the exact opposite and credits people with petty titles. Now if you're in one of the top hundred then you probably are content, but if you think about the other people who have low self esteem and don't make it into the list they'd probably feel as if they've failed. Am I the only one seeing this?

Re: 100 of the best brickfilmers you need to know about

Yeah, well why don't we do it like this... Everybody right down your own name/nickname and we're done mini/wink now seriously yeah I guess this topic is too personal. We are a small community and dividing this little community into even smaller groups is not what we need.

What about "Top 100 overrated brickfilmers"? mini/lol I know who's on the top of the list... and so do u! mini/eek

How about a thread without a number in the title? How about a thread where you take a scene from a brickfilm, and have people comment about it, pointing out what it did right, perhaps throwing out ways it could have been better, etc. That would be much more helpful than a "Top 100" list.

Liking that idea, would we post our own scenes or suggest other people's?

I must say this idea is indeed a good one. Perhaps you should start it up. There might need to be an obvious "disclaimer" somewhere that lets people know up front that the thread is devoted to constructive criticism and to be aware that any posted material might be subject to critiquing. I only say this for the sake of the younger members on this site. I think this idea though could be of benefit to myself and many other filmers on here.
