Its supposed to be the back of a cafe/diner. I actually went with a really small set because the scene only features people talking at a table.

People do that sometimes. mini/tongue Anyway, fib, I like your cafe set, it really enforces Nathan Well's tutorial on "only build what the camera sees."

Thanks. I never watched that tutorial but I always take that rule into account. My other rule is "build for what the camera might see."

The parts of a set that you don't see (like the back) I often make out of any bricks I have handy, forgetting color. But the first column on the sides of the back will always match the rest in case they show up.

I always have a funny user quote in my signature.

Don't mean to be posting so much lately but this is my last set for my DAD entry.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

Well, what Jstudios said about it following the "build only what the camera can see" is true, Fib didn't  follow the aesthetic tutorial, if you shot the scene, then ignore this, but I would use more earth-toned colors, I prefer these actually, and used them even before I saw the Aesthetic tutorial.

The bed looks okay, but something bugs me about the shape of the bed occupied by him, it makes him look like a mermaid.

Re: Sets and Props Critique Thread

I have a set I'd like to get some info on... Here's the link: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=443207
It is big, I know; it's kinda a loading dock on a planet for ships.... The red and green studs allow for ships to be dematerialized and stored in a computer. The room in the corner is a lab, in a sense. I will be putting computers and other accessories (any ideas?) on the outside desk areas.

EDIT: Also any ideas on a floor pattern for the lab area would be greatly appreciated.

Looks good. Lots of room for camera angles and movements.

Yea that was the idea. And it'll allow me to put some pretty big ships in there, which is also nice.

That's a pretty sweet ship, Dog! I especially like the color scheme; one main color, and several backup colors.

A WIP living room set. Through that little arch you'll see another room which I'm planning to move the computer into. Offer some thoughts and opinions to tell me what you think.

You know, you people are lucky to have a computer in legos. Anyway, love its simplicity and realism.

We're not lucky, we'd be lucky if we found a good condition one lying on the streets! mini/tongue I paid for that piece.
