Re: The Call of Farqunglu

Great job!
The scale of the sets was amazing, and the animation was good as always.
Clay was very visible is certain shots, but other than that, it was flawless.
4.75/5

Re: The Call of Farqunglu

Woo that was great other then the bit of clay showing but I can forgive that for how good it was

Re: The Call of Farqunglu

I'm not really sure how to tell you how awesome this film was. Here's a GIF of the Doctor which I think sums up my feelings:

That was amazing. The whole giant set thing really made this feel upscale, and you executed it all so well. I loved how everything happened, basically. And I thought all of that legal stuff amusing, especially how it's a kind of unrealistic happening, but that lawyer is doing everything he can to pose a serious argument about it. He he Oh and nice twist there.
Once again, the set looks so awesome wow.

This is the type of video I watch and favorite it immediately (I'm quite particular about what goes on my favorites list).

Re: The Call of Farqunglu

great job, great animation...

Re: The Call of Farqunglu

Recently I saw some really crappy brickfilms so this one is a real delight. Amazing sets, animation, cinematography, good story and etc. a decent film, I luved it. 5/5 of course!

Its stuff like this that restores my faith in the art of taking thousands of pictures of a children's toy and stringing them together to create movement.

The sets, the animation, the humour, the voice acting, the digital effects, even the picture quality....sublime.

(Oh, and really? You have something so brilliant in front of you and all you can say is "There's a bit of clay showing"? And I thought I nitpicked too much...)

Wow, Bionicle, I loved it! The animation and humor were great, and your sets were awesome!

I have always been a fan of H.P. Lovecraft style stories, and I thought this was a great parody! Nice job!

Re: The Call of Farqunglu

Brilliant.  I don't know much about HP Lovecraft, so I might have missed some of the more subtle parody, but it was still hilarious. The animation was smooth, the quality great, the CGI effects blended in very well, and the sets were beautifully built. The humor was very well done (loved the lawyer and the quotes mini/XD ), and I really liked the twist at the end.

If this is meant to take place in 1922, why is a computer in the background of the courtroom visible at 1:25?

All in all, superb job!  I definitely want to see more of this. mini/bigsmile

Great film bud. Great pacing and great story. The ending was great, big fan of those type of twists.
Its videos like this that inspire to brickfilm.
Nuts to 5 f 5 this was 10 of 10.

Re: The Call of Farqunglu

That was awesome Bionicle! Great stuff!

Re: The Call of Farqunglu

Wow, that was great.  I admire your courage in choosing to animate with no studs on the floor- I'm sure that took a lot of patience.  Also, the largeness of the sets amazed me.  It seems that a lot of brickfilmers (me included) just don't have enough legos to create sets that consist of much more than a few walls, so it was cool to see someone pull that off.

I liked how you made the books and papers jump whenever someone hit the table.  That was a nice touch.

Re: The Call of Farqunglu

Thanks for comments! Suburbanimationstudios, I actually only had enough Legos for one wall and part of the floor. This link shows how I made the large set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/58527846@N … hotostream

Re: The Call of Farqunglu

I loved it.

One thing that bothered me though, the lighting/colour levels changed between shots, even when it was in the same room, it was just a bit jarring.

Still though, amazing.

Re: The Call of Farqunglu

Bionicle28 you should do a behind the scenes video and a tutorial on how you did some of the effects and edited the set together that you said you only have one wall for.

That was a mistake I made in animating the clerk's scene, which was later redone, but was still visible in this different scene.

Re: The Call of Farqunglu

Wow! Those sets were amazing and the whole thing was so funny mini/lol What an awesome film!

merging them like that is genius! Thank you for sharing this man! I've been thinking about a movie which would involve lots of street (city) shots and I was really scared I didn't have enough bricks for the sets. This way I just might pull it off.
