I've been trying to contact the owners of this facebook page for a while, but never gotten a response. With the documentary it has become a problem, as several people have attempted to contact me through the page, and I can't respond to those people since I have nothing to do with the page. I would really like to get control of it, though.
Does anybody know who started it and would be able to get me access to it?

You seem to be in a jam Smeag. If all fails, maybe creating a "BiM Documentary" facebook page??
That's not the problem. The problem is that I would like to be able to receive messages from people who've tried to contact me through the page that uses the official name.
I can file legal documents to Facebook and probably seize control of it, but if the creator is still around that's an easier way of getting through this.

Honestly, I think you should file to FB, but I'm a rash person 
I wondered about this page. We should be updating it constantly so I figured there was something a miss.
Turns out one of my very close friends had created it way back when because he noticed there wasnt one. He secured the page and will be handing it over to Smeagol.
