Topic: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

This challenge is to help members of all skill levels improve their cinematography skills. The rules are quite simple. The first user posts a theme such as, "Pestilence", "Eviction" or "I didn't shoot him!". Take, "I didn't shoot him!" for example. You could have a bandit explaining to a sheriff that he didn't shoot a man. Or you could have a courtroom with a convict telling the judge that he didn't shoot a man. The possibilities are endless. This contest is for still images not video.

There is a one week deadline for you to finish your shots. When the one week is up, whoever chose the theme will pick the winner, and the winner will pick the theme for the next contest.

All members are encouraged to try this. It's purpose is to improve your skills. People who don't post a frame are also encouraged to participate by giving criticism.

The rules:
1.) You will have 1 week after the theme is posted to post your frame(s).
2.) You can post more than one frame within the same theme.
3.) The person who posted the theme may not participate in their own theme. (This is to avoid thread hijacking)
4.) The frame must be made specifically for the challenge

Since Skull Brick won the last round of the challenge, I'm letting him choose the first theme, but if he doesn't post a theme in the next 24 hours, I'll just come up with one and post it.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Can I add another rule?

4.) The frame must have been made specifically for the challenge.

I also think it would be a good idea to limit the number of entries per user to just three each round.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

All right, the theme is Disobedience.

A tricky one. mini/tongue

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

A very appropriate theme.  I think I may enter to gear myself up for THAC.

Uhm, yeah. Many people, including me, have worked on entries for Insanity. Be nice if they were judged. mini/smile

Can I have quotes to add humour? mini/tongue

Man with phone: "Uh, hey babe. Ahh, *burp* I'm gonna be a little late."
-wife- : "Are you at the bar again?"
Man with phone: "Um, ah no, I'm not at the bar."
*Hey Phillip, it's your turn!*
"Ah, I gotta go, honey. Love ya... *burp* "

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

I like the theme and the first picture. I hope the rest are like it as well; I remember that it was so disheartening to see all these horribly forced depictions of the theme.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

The set seems to drop off into a white expanse on the left, and the picture is very bright.I don't really see the theme there either.

Re: Cinematography Challenge (Read Rules First)

Timothy R, a very clean shot and great set design although the shot is too confined and the framing looks like something out of a situation comedy.

I like your shot justaminifig.I would have had him about to grab it while looking at his mum.BTW that face sorta creeps me out. mini/eek And TG.Tom maybe you need some white paper over the lamps to make it not so blown out.Or check your white balance

Whoa, I like that. I'm not a very good judge in cinematography, but I think that looks pretty neat. mini/bigsmile
