Re: Bricks in Motion: The Documentary
I wonder what all the non-BIM backers thought when you introduced Dane Cook, it was great.

I'm sorry we haven't gotten those out yet. I almost posted an update about it, but there's not a whole lot to be said. The biggest problem has been delays from the filmmakers who promised films to us not getting those films to us for the BiM Collection; we want to ship everything at once. Not going to lie, though; I'm still working on my exclusive new short film for the collection, too. We gave filmmakers a deadline which is now past, so we'll go with what we've got and start finalizing things.
It's coming along. Now that live action filming for the documentary is done, I am pushing to get these rewards out by the end of the month.
You can still get the BiM Collection (with the exclusive animations)? I thought that was only available via the $25 Kickstarter reward tier.

Yep, you can still pre-order it via the first post in this thread (the one we're posting in now)!
So for those outside the US, the Moviegoer is $37 rather than $25? Is it possible to download the BiM Collection instead? Apologies if I've misunderstood this.

Yes, it's $37 USD outside the US; the price difference is because we're producing everything in the US and it costs us about that much more to ship internationally.
The BiM Collection is only available as a physical DVD or DVD/Blu-ray combo package. Most of the films on it are available online already, the novelty is in having them together on a disc with commentaries, something I couldn't find a good way to offer digitally (not to mention securing releases was easier with clearly defined boundaries that the content would be used for a limited number of DVD/Blu-ray copies).
I see, fair enough.
Ha ha!
At last my grand master plan of holding the world BiM Collection DVD within my grasp is coming to fruition!
Any ideas on a timeframe? I know it's kinda hard to estimate, and I'm trying to be patient, but it's so hard.
By the way, that frame looks amazing. I love the lighting coming through the windows.

The goal is now to ship all physical rewards (the BiM Collection, the LEGO sets, the keychains) by the end of this month. I think we'll pull it off. The sets are done except for instructions; the keychains have been in my drawer for months. We're ordering supplies now for the BiM collection DVDs and Blu-rays.
But I'm sorry about the delays. It's my bad for saying we'd have them shipped out so much earlier. What I've realized is that while making this documentary is nearly a full-time job for me right now and so I can pretty much keep on schedule with making the doc itself, Doug and Nathan are doing a lot of the reward fulfillment work in their limited free time. Not to mention all the contributors to the collection. Dozens of people doing this on a free time basis has made it hard to predict how quickly things will go.
And then there's the fact that I'm starting to animate my exclusive film for the collection, you know, two and a half months after it was originally supposed to ship.
For those who haven't seen it on Twitter, Dylan Woodley (NXTManiac) is also hard at work at his own exclusive short film for the collection:
I think it's looking more like a first-half-of-April shipping date if I understand correctly what stage everybody is at on finalizing rewards.
But the exclusive films by NXT and me are done! We're working on DVD/Blu-ray menus and building instructions now.
The BiM collection is shaping up to have much more content than originally planned. Something in the ballpark of 4 hours.
4 hours?? Holy crap! That's amazing! Can't wait to see that puffidena film of yours
