Re: BiM 2010: The Missing Piece

Okay...

I honestly had no clue what was going on, the dialogue was garbled, and the animation was poor at best. The sound quality was terrible, and the dialogue was grossly over-acted in some cases. The animation for talking was the same bow at the legs for every sentence, which looked silly, and the camera movements(which may have just been bumps) were choppy and fast.

And also, this film was not Avant-Garde. This film brought nothing unique or new to the table.

Re: BiM 2010: The Missing Piece

Well, we appreciate the honesty and will take this into consideration.  The dialog we agree was kinda bad at some parts, we agree that there were set bumps and it might have been over-acted.  The animation for dialog however we thought was different for each line, but maybe not Sorry to dissatisfy once again and we hope that you will like our next film a little better.

Re: BiM 2010: The Missing Piece

I'm sorry, but I stopped watching after the first 30 seconds. The animation was poor I didn't understand a word he said. I have to agree with everything Just_a_Minifig said. The intro made no sense it was nothing like what you would see in a movie or an average brickfilm.

Animation:2 very poor with the transition between faster and slower

Voice acting: 4 you were to near the mic, it all seemed muffled

Appeal 1.5 As I've said above would a film critic watch this?

Sorry if this review made you feel bad, but that's just what I thought of it.

Okay, thanks once again for the honesty.  But you said that the beginning was nothing like an average brickfilm, that's the point of the contest.  But we know what you meant.

well I agree somewhat with everyone else, the animation wasn't to good(though it wasn't that bad either) and i have know idea what the story is about, but the dialog was pretty good in my opinion.

Re: BiM 2010: The Missing Piece

A bit difficult to follow but some of the fight animation and the gunshots in the walls, etc. were nice.

Where'd the music come from?  I don't see that mentioned anywhere.

Re: BiM 2010: The Missing Piece

Alright, this wasn't bad. You very much improved, and I liked that it acutally fit the theme.

Sound=7/10 some of the sound was muffled, but overall not bad voice acting.
Animation=7.5/10 very much improved, and it looked pretty realistic.
Story=6/10 not that bad of a story, it fit the theme, but you definately could've thought more!
Overall=6.5/10 or 3/5.

Re: BiM 2010: The Missing Piece

I have to agree with the criticism in this thread, but don't take it to hard. Nobody is good at filmmaking in the beginning, you just need to practice more and you'll be alright. I remember the first 4 months I animated, I was absolutely horrible, it's normal.

Re: BiM 2010: The Missing Piece

What everyone has said is true. There were some good bits (like the gunshots, etc) but some of it definately needs work. I also couldn't really follow the story either. I think all you need to do is practise. Do that and you'll improve. Even people like Steven Spielburg started off quite small (I heard the first film he made was when he was a kid with a model train set). This was my first brickfilm, as you can see, it's not very good. The light changes, the animation is WAY TOO FAST, but I kept practising. The animations I have made to date were all made with the same programs, but I got a better studio, camera, and some lamps, which really improved the quality of my films.
So, keep at it. Do some tests for more difficult stuff before using them, to make sure they look good.
So, good luck with you're brickfilming future, I can see you making some brilliant films in the future. mini/wink

Re: BiM 2010: The Missing Piece

alright,

i really liked when he shot at the walls and the bricks fell out.

i really dont like your closing credits - because it says joshua and justin w for basically all of them. just have one credit instead of things like filmed by, casting, editing, etc.

your animation is improving but its all out of focus and your camera placement needs work.

The Missing Piece
What can I say? I loved every second of it. The Missing Piece is like a new cult classic of brickfilms. It's hilarious.
Juggernaut Pictures, give yourselves pats on the backs since this film should be rewarded as the best comedy of
the year. I've never laughed so much watching a brickfilm.

Rating: 5 out of 5

Saw it again, still loving it, it's so bad it's entertaining, the end credits just finish this movie great.
Can't wait for the sequel!
