Topic: Upcoming Contest Poll

I would like to have one small contest before BiM 2011 and THAC 8 are announced/take place. The original idea was for it to be a BRAWL contest but the vote was very split on when it should take place since people are going back to school now. I'd be open to having BRAWL next year and holding a month long contest instead, so I thought I'd poll about this.

BRAWL being a weeklong brickfilming contest similar to THAC; the September contest would be a themed contest in which the entrants would have a month to make entries. The month-long contest would likely have the same (currently unannounced) theme as the BRAWL contest.

Note that if the poll is really close but slightly in favor of BRAWL it'd still make sense to go for the September contest since people voting against BRAWL probably couldn't enter otherwise.

It's probably a little late for me to butt in with this, but could BRAWL be run like THAC 6 was (I think it was 6...), where there were actually multiple contests in one? There were three weeks picked out as possibilities for BRAWL. For each of those weeks, there would be a different theme/mod element. Users would make a film for whichever of the three they were available for, and all entries would be combined into one pool for judging.

I dunno... just a thought.

That crossed my mind, but if we're going to have BRAWL at some point one of the things I wanted to try was a more experimental/specific theme, as opposed to the really broad approach of THAC. At that point, it would become difficult to judge entries from the two different weeks alongside each other.
